Weather Service extends air quality alert

If you have respiratory issues or heart problems, it might be a good idea to stay indoors or limit exertion outside in Helena.

The National Weather Service issued an air quality alert on Wednesday. The alert was set to run through Thursday morning, but as of 10 a.m. the air quality had not improved. The NWS says the air quality will remain poor, meaning that particulate levels have not improved or have worsened, and are not expected to improve.

The updated alert will run through at least 9 a.m. Friday.
