The Jail Levy: A Closer Look, Part V

NOTE: This is the fifth in a multi-part series of stories examining the Jail Levy issue now facing voters  across Lewis and Clark County.

There is a common rebuttal to Lewis and Clark County’s request for funding to operate a renovated jail through the levy now on ballots mailed to voters last week.

Wording varies, but the theme is simple: Just quit stuffing the jail full with people who don’t belong there.

Neither county officials nor law enforcement are deaf to the retort. And they agree – there are people in the jail who shouldn’t be.
