Last week, the staff and physicians at St. Peter’s Health in Helena received some good news.
Even at the beginning of their transition to expand and rebrand their services, one thing remains the same. St. Peter’s Health has received an A rating for patient safety from the consumer watchdog group Leapfrog. The Executive Director of Corporate Communications at St. Peter’s, Andrea Groom, said they are one of three hospitals in Montana to earn this high grade.
“They measure things like med errors, injuries, accidents and infections,” Groom said. “Saint Peter’s has been performing very highly according to national averages in those areas.”
And for the hospital it is good to receive this type of recognition.
“This kind of thing is an exemplary mark of the work we have been doing,” Groom said, “but I think that moving forward we’re really aiming to be a higher performing organization and these are the kind of things that we want to just continue to improve over the years, so that we can deliver the best possible patient care.”’
It is the fourth consecutive A grade in patient safety the hospital has earned.
