President Trump is meeting with nearly two dozen members of Congress today, with the focus largely on immigration and his proposed border wall.
The fate of the DREAMers – children who were brought into the United States illegally as children – is a sticking point in the nation’s capital, with a potential government shutdown looming as the Jan. 19 deadline nears with no spending bill in sight.
Trump and his advisors are scheduled to meet with 16 senators and seven members of the House, a total made up of 13 Republicans and 10 Democrats. One of those Democrats is Montana’s Jon Tester, who posted a video on Twitter ahead of the meeting.
In the post, Tester says he’s hopeful something positive can come from the meeting, where he will also deliver a letter to the President discussing his VA bill.
