POW-MIA ceremony set for Friday morning at Memorial Park

Veterans, military personnel and the general public are invited to participate in the 39th annual National Prisoner of War and Missing In Action Recognition Day tomorrow.

There will be a ceremony at the Lewis and Clark County Veterans Memorial at Memorial Park, starting at 8 a.m.

Any who wish to read names of Montana POW-MIAs should gather between 7:30 and 8 to go over the process.

There are many Montana military personnel listed as Prisoners of War or Missing In Action. The list includes 27 from World War I, 8 from World War II, 28 from Korea, 16 of the original 22 from the Vietnam War, and 2 of the original 3 from the Cold War.
