Our People

Kurt Kittelson

Kurt is an integral part of Newsradio 95 KCAP’s efforts to bring you the latest information every day.

Kurt is the co-host of Montana’s Morning News from 6 to 8:30 every weekday morning.  He brings you the news, weather, and sports you need, Monday through Friday.  Kurt brings his decades-long experience in Montana issues to the KCAP news desk, providing insight and perspective you can’t find anywhere else.

You also hear his voice on our sister station 99.5 The Bull, offering news briefs that keep you up to date.

When not behind the mic, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife of 22 years, Sara, rooting for the Minnesota Viking and playing with his grandchildren.

Troy Shockley

The news director at KCAP, Troy worked for five years as the sports editor of the Independent Record before joining The Montana Radio Company. He has shifted back into news and radio after a long run in sports and newspapers, but is keeping his toes in the sports world. He’s an occasional color analyst for Helena High football and basketball broadcasts, and has been known to give play-by-play a go time to time.

Troy is the co-host for Montana’s Morning News from 6 to 8:30 a.m. weekdays, and also works to find, write and record news in the Helena community for air and online.

As the host of Coffee Break, KCAP’s morning interview show airing weekdays from 8:30 to 9, he aims to both entertain and inform while helping people doing good things in the community continue to do even more good things.

When not at work, Troy enjoys hanging out with his wife, Roxanne, 12-year-old daughter, Elisabeth, and his ever-present shadow, retriever-lab mix Jaeger. He’s also an unashamed Dallas Cowboys and Colorado Avalanche fan, and enjoys perfecting his technique on his Kamado-style smoker.
