Number of cases of flu down in Montana

A rare piece of good news this flu season in Montana: the number of new cases dropped for the first time since December.

The state department of public health and human services says there were nearly 700 new cases for the week that ended on Feb. 17.

The good news of a drop of about 175 cases was, however, offset with additional deaths from the virus, which now sits at 31 across Montana.

Nearly 5,900 cases of the flu have been reported state wide this season.
