Man rescued from Bob Marshall Wilderness

A man who broke his leg in the Bob Marshall Wilderness is recovering after being rescued by a helicopter.

Authorities reported yesterday that 68-year-old California resident George Brown was hurt on Sunday after leaving an outfitter camp near the Pretty Prairie Ranger Station.

It took search crews a couple of days to find him a mile off a trail. He was taken by Mercy Flight to a Great Falls hospital, where he is being treated for a broken leg.

The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, Montana National Guard and Two Bear Air were all involved in the rescue effort.
