Lincoln woman killed in Great Falls murder-suicide

Police have publicly identified the man and woman killed in a murder-suicide in a Great Falls home.

Investigators said yesterday Michael Willey shot and killed Ronda Ray of Lincoln in the early morning hours of Saturday before he turned the gun on himself.

The pair was pronounced dead at the hospital, after being taken there from the home where they were found.

Less than two months ago, Willey had been arrested for alleged violent assault against Ray, breaking her orbital socket and caving in her cheekbone.

Court records show indicate that Willey had twice been charged with assault against Ray, one an assault with a weapon charge from last year, for which he was convicted. He also had an aggravated assault charge pending in Lewis and Clark County District Court.

After violating a no-contact order, he had been held in the Lewis and Clark County jail, but bonded out last month.
