Around 100 people gathered in the Helena Middle School Auditorium on Friday night, where five congressional candidates answered questions from Montana teens.
The forum was created and hosted by Helena Youth Against Gun Violence, and all 17 candidates officially registered were invited. Six agreed to attend, though Lynda Moss suspended her campaign and so was not on stage. Other candidates cited scheduling conflicts, but one Libertarian laughed at the invitation and hung up.
The five in attendance were Green Party House candidate Doug Campbell and Green Party Senate candidate Steve Kelly, along with Democratic House candidates Grant Kier, John Meyer and Kathleen Williams.
