Helena woman jailed after theft of coins, shotgun

A woman remains behind bars in Helena today after reportedly taking coins and a shotgun from a home.

Authorities say Melissa Shurtliff went into the home on Janet Street while the owner was away on vacation and managed to get away with about $10,000 in silver and gold coins.

Police caught up with the 27 year old after she pawned two of the coins.

Police say Shurtliff also took a shotgun from the home.
