The Helena School District is zeroing in on its next leader.
Two of the three announced finalists met with educators yesterday to introduce themselves and answer questions, and have also met with students, administration and members of the community.
Greg Upham, currently the district assistant superintendent, is one of the two remaining finalists. The other is Tyler Ream, an associate superintendent for a Houston, Texas area district. The third finalist, Barbara Hickman from Arizona, pulled her name from consideration after accepting another offer.
Today, the school board will review feedback from district staff members and the public and interview the two men again, with the intention of selecting one of them as early as this afternoon.
Current superintendent Jack Copps is retiring at the end of the school year.
