County approves purchase of building for Sheriff’s Office, HPD

All that’s left before the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Helena Police Department can move into a new building is for the city of Helena to approve it.

The county commission approved buying the old Blue Cross Blue Shield building on Fuller Avenue during its meeting yesterday with a purchase price of $1.29 million.

As long as the city also approves the sale in a meeting next month, both agencies will move in, allowing their current space at the Law Enforcement Center to be converted into jail space.
