Cougar spotted on Mount Helena

Officials want the public to be careful on Mount Helena after the sighting of a mountain lion.

The cougar was reportedly seen near the 1906 and Prairie trails yesterday morning, but didn’t get close to any people.

The state department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks says bear mace can deter a mountain lion, but if you don’t have any, don’t run and try to make yourself as large as possible.
