Carroll College down to two finalists for President

Carroll College has announced the two finalists to take over as president of the school.

Dr. Thomas Powell, who last served as Mount Saint Mary’s University’s president from 2003 to 2015, will be on campus for an interview on Feb. 21.

He’s currently President of Saint John’s Catholic Preparatory School in Frederick, Maryland.

The school will interview Dr. John Cech, of Helena, the day after.  Cech is currently the state university system’s deputy commissioner of high education.

The school expects whoever they select to officially be on the job sometime this summer. Rev. Stephen Rowan has served as interim president since Aug. 1.
