Car theft, pursuit leads law enforcement through multiple counties

At 3:17 p.m. Tuesday, Helena police officers were dispatched to the area of Alice Street and Runkle Parkway for a report of an individual who had just stolen a vehicle at gun point.

HPD Lt. Cory Bailey says the individual took off in the vehicle toward Broadwater County. The vehicle was later located by Broadwater County deputies, and was involved in a pursuit. The pursuit continued through Broadwater County in to Gallatin County, with numerous agencies involved.

The vehicle was finally stopped in the area of Willow Creek in Gallatin County, where the suspect was taken in to custody. The suspect was later identified as Sidney Aimsback, a 29-year-old female from Great Falls.

There is, at this time, no information available concerning charges against the driver from the other jurisdictions. Aimsback is also being held on a probation violation, robbery, and theft (felony) out of Helena Police Department jurisdiction.
