Big-game harvest numbers are up

The state says harvest totals for this year’s fall big-game hunting season are up about 7 percent from last year in the west-central part of the state. Hunters have taken more white-tailed deer than any season since 2008, with Bonner’s check stations seeing the largest amount at 271.

The state says the elk harvest in Darby is at 134, higher than last year but still lower than in 2015. The season ends in two weeks.
