Traffic was snarled in Helena for a few hours yesterday morning after an accident on Prospect and I-15 at the Capitol Interchange.
Helena police responded just after 9 a.m. to the scene of a two-vehicle accident after a semi pulling a pair of fuel trailers collided with an SUV.
The SUV, driven by a 61-year-old woman from Townsend, was westbound on Prospect and failed to stop a red light, causing the accident with the semi, which was exiting the interstate to go east on 11th. The truck was driven by a 60-year-old man from Great Falls, and there was also a 60-year-old passenger.
Injuries were reported by the driver of the passenger car but no one was transported to the hospital. No other injuries were reported and the driver of the passenger car was cited for a red light violation.
All occupants were wearing seat belts.
